Fred Williams, Senior Associate, Tax

Fred has a vast amount of experience working in the Corporation Tax Branch of the Government of Ontario where he developed an in-depth understanding of corporate taxation. Moving to the private sector as the Corporate Tax Manager of the Christie Brown division of Nabisco, Fred worked extensively on the mergers of Nabisco and Standard Brands. He also worked for Warner Lambert as Corporate Tax Manager before entering the field of sales tax consulting in the mid 1980’s.

Since 1992 Fred has focused on recovering United States Sales and Use Tax for Canadian clients with USA operations. Fred’s knowledge of American sales taxes makes him a valuable resource for R&T. In the course of his USA experience he has prepared and won sales tax issues in Illinois and Texas that resulted in recoveries of over $1Million. His contacts with government employees in many states allows him to access information where needed to ensure that his clients receive excellent advice and equitable service.
